Incoterms 2020 Guide for Importers
A plain-English reference to all 11 Incoterms 2020 — who is responsible for cost and risk at each stage of the journey.
Why Incoterms matter
Incoterms define exactly who pays for what and where risk passes from seller to buyer in an international shipment. Choosing the wrong term can leave you unexpectedly liable for freight, insurance or customs clearance. The most common terms for importers are EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP — each shifts a different amount of cost and responsibility onto you.
